08/04/2023

***This article is adapted from the Redfin.com blog post “Charlotte Bucket List: 10 Things to Check Off Your List“, written by Julia Weaver.***

If you’re thinking about moving to the Queen City and plan to buy a house or rent an apartment in Charlotte, you’ll quickly realize that you certainly won’t run out of things to do in this city.  From the restaurant scene and museums to the stunning parks and the many hidden gems in Charlotte, it’s guaranteed that you’ll be captivated from the moment you arrive.

To help you make the most of your time living in Charlotte, we’ve put together a list of must-try Charlotte bucket-list experiences. From savoring the local flavors at the farmers market to exploring the vibrant food scene, these are just some of the unique things to do in Charlotte that will make you fall in love with the city. So grab your walking shoes and your sense of adventure, and get ready to dive into the ultimate Charlotte bucket list.

1 | Enjoy food and drinks at Aura Rooftop

After opening its doors in 2021, the bright and inviting terrace, secluded among the skyscrapers and fitted with lounge sofas and a large bar, brings residents an escape without leaving the city.

“The Aura Rooftop is super beautiful and is arguably one of the better rooftops in Charlotte,” says local wedding photographer Cody McCracken of One Focus Photos. “They have really great drinks, affordable prices, and a comfortable atmosphere.”

2 | Visit the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture

“If you’re new to the city, the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture is an experience you need to put on your Charlotte bucket list,” shares local blogger, content creator, and influencer, Jasmine Rutledge. “Not only is the museum beautiful, it eloquently shares the contributions of African Americans to Charlotte’s rich history. Being a new resident myself, the museum helped me connect to and appreciate the beautiful culture and history of the Queen City.”

3 | Don’t miss a show at the Blumenthal Performing Arts

“I have seen the city grow up, just like my children did,” shares Jan Correll, blogger/digital creator, and editor-in-chief at Silver is the New Blonde, a style and beauty website “The Charlotte area has so much to offer from Mooresville down to Rock Hill. I have lived in Matthews, Fort Mill, and now Huntersville.  My favorite activity is enjoying the shows and plays at Blumenthal Performing Arts, and going to dinner or drinks before or after in uptown. I love that Broadway is so very close.”

4 | Spend a day at the Discovery Place Science

“Discovery Place Science is by far my favorite place to visit in Charlotte,” says personal chef Ross Purple. “There’s always something new with rotating exhibits like The Smithsonian, Dinosaurs ALIVE & Marvel: Universe of Super Hero’s coming in May 2023. If you live in Charlotte, with or without kids, it is a MUST to become a member which includes unlimited free admission, early museum access, discounts at the gift shop, parking, bday, and summer camps & exclusive events, IMAX & Planetarium and one of the Queen city’s best monthly adult social events.”

6 | Lose track of time at the Mint Museum

“The Mint Museum, one of the many beautiful places in Charlotte, is a must see attraction. There are two locations, one downtown where you can spend hours looking at art, and another one in Cotswold that is slightly smaller but still worth a visit,” explains Katelyn, a wedding photographer at The Hazel Club. “The Cotswold location has a lovely park and you can have a picnic lunch outside before walking through the gallery. Both locations are also great wedding venues too.”

7 | Visit the Lazy Five Ranch Zoo

“One can’t-miss Charlotte bucket list item is the Lazy 5 Ranch,” shares local moving company,” Exclusive Movers. “Just outside the city, visitors can drive-thru in their own vehicle and walk around the petting zoo for one price. They also have a wagon ride option for an additional cost. The Ranch has a large variety of animals from pigs and goats all the way to giraffes and zebras. The animals will walk up to your vehicle, and the big animals have no problem popping their heads in to eat from your bucket. If you are looking for an interactive, unforgettable experience in the Charlotte area, Lazy 5 Ranch.”

Now that my go to lazy girl hair style (a puff) is out of the question, I’ve had to learn how to master styles that will hide my hairline until the hair grows back.

If you’ve been here a while you know I don’t know how to do hair and twist outs and me do not mix, but I think I finally got it! How do you think I did??

Also, please drop your tips for simple styles to do that will hide a thinning hairline. I’m taking all the help I can get 😩
Every verse here is special to me, but this week Z Every verse here is special to me, but this week Zephaniah 3:17 hits home the most.

I know how excited I get when I think about my God, but to think He gets just as excited about me is still something I can’t fully wrap my brain around. I love knowing that God - as perfect as He is and as powerful as He is - has a soft spot for little old imperfect me.

This week I’m praying for everyone who comes across this post. May the love of God ease your every fear and insecurity, and may you rest content and at peace in His overflowing love towards you ♥️
I’ve been posting a daily Bible verse in my stor I’ve been posting a daily Bible verse in my stories for almost 3 years now. I recently took a (long) break and decided to bring the daily verses back as a weekly post on my feed.

The goal is to let the word “live” permanently on my page so you can come back to verses that resonate with you over and over again.

One of the best things you can do for your relationship with God is to spend time in His word. Don’t just be satisfied with these snippets. Open up your Bible (or the Bible app) and read the full chapter for more context and clarity. That’s how we get to know God better!

I pray these verses encourage and strengthen you as you take on this new week. Praying for you and cheering you on, friend ♥️

My number one laundry must-have is this baby laund My number one laundry must-have is this baby laundry stain remover spray. Listen, @dreft did their thing when they made this. It has been holding me down since Toni Noelle was a newborn.

I use this spray on literally EVERYTHING. It’s gotten spaghetti sauce stains out of my rugs. Coffee stains out of my white settee and so much more.

I also really like that it’s safe to use around the kids. It’s made of plant-based ingredients and doesn’t contain any dyes so I don’t have to worry about it harming them.

Do yourself a favor and grab a bottle (or 2). I included a link to it in my bio ♥️

Also, this is not sponsored. I wasn’t paid for this or sent any products for free. I been spending my own money on this for years and think you’ll love it like I do!
I shared this message in a caption of a reel last I shared this message in a caption of a reel last year and after adding baby number 2 to the tribe a few months ago, I’m standing ten toes down on it.

As seasons change splitting the work looks different than before, but it still needs to happen. I couldn’t imagine working all day and my partner not help me maintain the place we both call home or take care of the kids he helped me make.

Single ladies, have this conversation as early in the relationship as you can so you both have the right expectations going into marriage. Also take stock of his cleaning habits beforehand so you won’t be caught off guard later I’m fortunate because I didn’t marry a lazy man. He was on top of keeping his bachelor pad in order way before I came into the picture 🙌🏾

Now if you’re already in a relationship and struggling in this area, now would be a great time to lovingly but firmly set some boundaries, ask for some help, then get to delegating. God tells you to be your home’s manager, not a workhorse ♥️

P.S.
Now is a great time to remind you to grab the free prayer guide: “14 Days of Declaring Scriptures Over Your Husband”. It’s linked in my bio under “Free Guides”
