I absolutely love the Fall season. The weather cools down. The cute boots and sweaters start rolling out. The holiday season begins. It’s the perfect season to me. The impending arrival of winter has me savoring these last few weeks of my favorite season and in that spirit, I wanted to share with you some of the products I’m loving this Fall.

LONOVE Facial Steamer
My facial steamer is by far my favorite product of all the favorites we’re going to talk about today.
Facial steaming has sooo many benefits. The steam opens up your pores and unclogs built-up dirt, dead skin cells, and bacteria, resulting in a deeper clean. Steaming also hydrates the skin, boosts skin elasticity, and helps your skincare products absorb better. And these are only a few of the benefits!
I’ve been steaming my face weekly for over a decade now, but I always did it the DIY way – with a large pot of steaming water and a towel draped over my head to trap the heat. Obviously, this isn’t the safest method so I decided it was time to go ahead and invest in a real steamer.
I made the switch to an official steamer because it’s safer and less time-consuming (my steamer is ready to go in less than one minute versus waiting for water to boil on the stove).
I fell off of my skincare routine when quarantine started but got back on the saddle in September. I’ve been using the LONOVE ever since and my skin is loving me for it. I’m noticing less dryness, more glow, and definitely better-hydrated skin.
FARSÁLI Privé Quench Moisture Replenishing Serum
I didn’t think I needed a new serum. I was perfectly fine using my ArtNaturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum which has been a staple for months now (and is still amazing, don’t get me wrong). I received the FARSÁLI Privé Quench Moisture Replenishing Serum in a beauty subscription box and was intrigued. Here is how the product is described on farsali.com:
“A serum that helps to replenish moisture in the skin by using a unique complex of low and high molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid. The staggered molecular weights of the Hyaluronic Acid are designed to help promote multi-depth hydration on both the skin’s surface and in the epidermis. Enriched with replenishing Provitamin B5, the skin’s elasticity appears improved as well as feeling and looking softer than before.“
That’s a really long way of saying, this serum is a hydration powerhouse. I’ve been using it for two months now and I have to say … they are not lying.
At $24.00 it is just about twice the price of the ArtNaturals serum I’d been using and in my opinion worth the price increase for me to make the switch. I am loving this serum!
The texture alone makes me feel luxurious. Most serums that I have come across are very thin and watery. The FARSÁLI serum, however, has a really rich texture. It’s hard to describe but the best way I can explain it is that it just feels weightier. When I place this on my skin it doesn’t automatically roll down my face. It has a cooling effect and glides on like butter when I massage it in.
On top of that, it actually does leave my face feeling extra hydrated and glowing. If you can afford to splurge a little on your skincare, I definitely recommend the FARSÁLI Privé Quench Moisture Replenishing Serum.
Reusable cotton pads
This might sound really basic, but facial cotton pads are super important in my beauty routine. I use them every day – sometimes multiple times a day – to wipe off makeup, clean my face, and apply products (mainly toner). For years I had been using the disposable ones that you get from the drugstore but in an effort to cut waste (financially and environmentally) I made the switch to reusable cotton rounds. I found these reusable cotton pads on Amazon and absolutely love that they come in a washable wet bag. When it’s time to wash them I just pop them in the bag and throw the whole thing in the washing machine without worrying about losing the cotton pads amongst my clothes.
What I really love about these is that they are so much softer than the disposable ones I used to use. They are also much larger, so I don’t need to use as many, and for a price of less than $8.00, I really am not complaining.
Makeup
MAC Lip Pencil in ‘Chestnut’
I feel like I have been searching forever (three years actually) for a nice DARK brown lip liner that actually looks dark brown when I put it on my lips. I cannot tell you how many brown lip pencils are in my makeup case right now that I initially thought, “this is the one!” only to get it home and realize it barely shows up on my skin.
Thanks to YouTube, I stumbled upon this MAC lip pencil in the color Chestnut. Absolutely changed the game for me. This is a true deep brown lip pencil. It shows up effortlessly on my skin, glides on smoothly, and makes every lipstick I pair it with POP.
Mented Products
Mented is a black woman-owned makeup brand that was started in 2017. I discovered the company at the beginning of the year and have ordered more than a few times from them since. I love ALL of their products from the eyeshadow pallet to the setting powders but my absolute favorites are their semi-matte lipstick in the color ‘Pretty in Pink’ and their Sunkissed Bronzer in the color ‘Yacht Life’.
The ‘Pretty in Pink’ semi-matte lipstick has been the perfect Fall lippie when paired with the aforementioned MAC Chestnut lip pencil. The color is a beautiful soft pink that shows up well on dark skin without being overbearing. I’m not a bubblegum pink lipstick kind of girl (but if you are that’s cool too. Do you, boo!).
The Sunkissed bronzer was my first foray into the world of bronzers. All my life I’ve been a blush only girl, but a few YouTube makeup videos convinced me to try out a nice bronzer and I’m so glad I made the switch with the Mented collection. The Sunkissed bronzers are very pigmented, easy to blend, and look AH-MAZING on brown skin. I’m enjoying having that summer “glow” even as the days are getting more drab.
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils in ‘Train Bleu’ and ‘Cruella’
I’ve been rocking these two lip colors for at least the last five years. These are truly a Fall-Winter-Summer-Spring favorite for me. Sometimes I like to wear them on their own but most times I opt to line my lips heavily with Train Bleu and fill them in with Cruella, creating a really pretty vampy ombre. Not only is the color payoff stunning, but the formula of these lip pencils is A-1. They don’t dry my lips out or leave them stained which is a major plus for me. You don’t have to sacrifice moisture in order to slay, ladies!
Candles
I’m just going to say this now: I am a huge Bath and Body Works/White Barn candles fan and that is the only brand you’re about to hear about.
While I love MANY of the Bath and Body works candles, the Fall is my hands-down favorite time to buy. The Fall scents are just unmatched! Every Fall I go in for my OG favorites, but I also like to search for at least two or three new ones that I’ve never tried.
This year on my Fall favorites candle list:
The first two candles on this list are oldies but goodies. They are my tried and true, ride-or-die Fall scents. Iced Vanilla Woods is a newbie for me but has quickly become a staple in my candle collection. Let’s get into some specifics for each one.
Leaves
I walked into Bath and Body Works a few years ago and smelled this candle burning and fell in love instantly. The fragrance notes are crisp red apple, golden nectar, warm clove spice, and essential oils.
This candle smells like Fall in a jar. The scent is strong, so if it’s burning in any part of a room, you will smell it, and – depending on how big your home is – you may smell it a few rooms over. I love that! When I burn this, the entire condo smells like a warm Fall day. It makes my whole home feel cozier and more relaxing.
Marshmallow Fireside
I actually smelled Marshmallow Fireside in the jar and was not impressed initially. It wasn’t until I was watching NitraaB on YouTube and she was describing how great this candle smelled when it was burned that I decided to give it a try and I am so happy I did!
This is a very sweet-smelling candle but it’s not overbearing. The fragrance notes are toasted marshmallow, smoldering woods, fire-roasted vanilla, crystallized amber, and essential oils.
Listen, do yourself a favor and grab this candle the next time you’re looking for a new one to try. You will not regret it.
Iced Vanilla Woods
The first time I burned Iced Vanilla Woods it became an instant favorite. With notes of iced lavender, sweet vanilla, ebony wood, and essential oils, it has a sweet woodsy fragrance that is so satisfying to experience. This candle makes me want to take a luxurious bubble bath or cuddle up under a chunky knit blanket with a book. Like all Bath and Body Works candles, the smell is potent but this one is not overbearing in the least. This is a candle that I can literally burn all day and not get tired of.
If you’re reading this blog post on the day it published, I have great news for you! Every year in December, Bath and Body Works holds Candle Day, a three-day candle sale in which their 3-wick candles are deeply discounted. Today is the first day of Candle Day 2020 and all 3-wick candles are just $9.95! I’ve already gone into the store and snagged my faves (and a few more newbies). If you plan to participate I would go ASAP because they are already all sold out online.
Candle Day ends on Sunday so you have two more days to find your nearest Bath and Body Works store and get your favorites. If you’re reading this after Candle Day has already passed, it’s OK. Bath and Body Works’ candles go on sale very regularly throughout the year.
Well, friend, this concludes the list of all the products I’m loving this Fall. I hope you enjoyed finding out about some new products as much as I enjoyed sharing them with you. Honestly, I could sit around and gab about skincare, makeup, and candles ALL day but no one has that kind of time. Let’s continue our chat in the comments below.
