How LadyBossBlogger Helped Me Master Pinterest & Increase My Blog’s Traffic

07/23/2021

This September will make it one year since I re-launched my blog here at JasmineRutledge.com and I can hardly believe we’re coming up on our one-year anniversary already! The past 10 months have truly been a JOURNEY. From learning how to customize a website, establishing a consistent posting schedule, and building a community – I have definitely been stretched as I’ve poured in unmeasurable time and energy.

For all my efforts though, a few months ago I realized that this blog wasn’t growing much. My blog traffic was so low and becoming stagnant. I had searched Google and YouTube for solutions and even taken courses on mastering SEO to increase traffic, but nothing seemed to be working. My goal with this website is to inspire and encourage women to live abundantly as they pursue Christ, but that’s not possible if I can’t even reach the women in the first place.

I was getting frustrated and discouraged so I did what I normally do when I’m stuck. I prayed. I sat down one day and simply asked God to help me increase my traffic. He answered not even a week later. I was approached by the LadyBossBlogger team with an offer to take their “Grow Christian Blog Course“, created by LadyBossBlogger CEO Elaine Rau.

Now, I have taken plenty of courses before, but I was intrigued by this particular one because the focus was on getting massive traffic to your blog in a way that honors and collaborates with God. In addition, I was in desperate need of help. I couldn’t figure out SEO to save my life. My email list was not growing. I knew that Pinterest was a good tool to use to drive blog traffic, but I had no idea how to use it effectively (my impressions on Pinterest were abysmal). The “Grow Christian Blog”,  course sales page promised to address all of these pain points. I was sold.

My Results

It’s been a week since I finished the course and I have to say I am SO happy I decided to take it! My main pain point when I started the course was utilizing Pinterest correctly. I had already signed up for  Tailwind, –  an Instagram and Pinterest scheduler – but was completely lost on how to use it. Pin design was also difficult and time-consuming for me. Thankfully, the “Grow Christian Blog’ course dedicates two full modules to Pinterest strategy which covers how to create viral pins, how to optimize your boards for SEO, how to use Tailwind, how to avoid getting your Pinterest account suspended, and much more. This is important because Pinterest can be a major key in driving traffic to your blog. If you learn how to drive traffic on Pinterest correctly, you’ll by default see increased traffic on your blog as well!

Since completing the course I’ve seen noticeable growth on both my Pinterest account and blog. In just two weeks I saw:

  • Impressions on Pinterest increase from 1,000 to 3,3000 – a gain of 230%
  • Total audience on Pinterest increase from 375 users to 1,900 users – an increase of 486%
  • Sessions on my blog grow by 65%
  • And blog page views increase by 68%.

This was all in just two weeks! Before this, I was noticing a decrease in the above figures.

Another benefit I saw from taking this course was one that I can’t quantify. I mentioned earlier that one of the things that drew me into taking the course was the focus on partnering with God to grow your blog. As I was taking the course, I began to lean more into the Holy Spirit for direction. I started asking for His insight on what to write about instead of just picking a topic I thought would be good. I sought His guidance on my Pinterest and social media promotion strategy as well. As a result, I began to notice there was more grace on me to write. Writing the posts and promoting them no longer felt so arduous. I’ve been more connected with my writing and so has my audience! The feedback from my blog posts over the past few weeks has been amazing. People are being encouraged and inspired like never before and it’s been so refreshing to witness!

I truly feel that God sent me this course at the time I needed it. It was so jam-packed with value. While the most value for me came from the Pinterest optimization, I also learned valuable information about how to build an email list, how to balance your life and blogging, how to set up your site’s legal pages so you don’t get into trouble (this is important!), and how to monetize your blog.

Do you need help growing your blog?

If you are a blogger and you’re having trouble growing your blog, don’t try to do it on your own! I spent 10 months trying to figure out how to increase traffic to my blog and got lackluster results. I wish I had taken this course sooner! I highly encourage you to take LadyBossBlogger’s Grow Christian Blog course. Every verse here is special to me, but this week Z Every verse here is special to me, but this week Zephaniah 3:17 hits home the most.

I know how excited I get when I think about my God, but to think He gets just as excited about me is still something I can’t fully wrap my brain around. I love knowing that God - as perfect as He is and as powerful as He is - has a soft spot for little old imperfect me.

This week I’m praying for everyone who comes across this post. May the love of God ease your every fear and insecurity, and may you rest content and at peace in His overflowing love towards you ♥️
I’ve been posting a daily Bible verse in my stor I’ve been posting a daily Bible verse in my stories for almost 3 years now. I recently took a (long) break and decided to bring the daily verses back as a weekly post on my feed.

The goal is to let the word “live” permanently on my page so you can come back to verses that resonate with you over and over again.

One of the best things you can do for your relationship with God is to spend time in His word. Don’t just be satisfied with these snippets. Open up your Bible (or the Bible app) and read the full chapter for more context and clarity. That’s how we get to know God better!

I pray these verses encourage and strengthen you as you take on this new week. Praying for you and cheering you on, friend ♥️

My number one laundry must-have is this baby laund My number one laundry must-have is this baby laundry stain remover spray. Listen, @dreft did their thing when they made this. It has been holding me down since Toni Noelle was a newborn.

I use this spray on literally EVERYTHING. It’s gotten spaghetti sauce stains out of my rugs. Coffee stains out of my white settee and so much more.

I also really like that it’s safe to use around the kids. It’s made of plant-based ingredients and doesn’t contain any dyes so I don’t have to worry about it harming them.

Do yourself a favor and grab a bottle (or 2). I included a link to it in my bio ♥️

Also, this is not sponsored. I wasn’t paid for this or sent any products for free. I been spending my own money on this for years and think you’ll love it like I do!

As seasons change splitting the work looks different than before, but it still needs to happen. I couldn’t imagine working all day and my partner not help me maintain the place we both call home or take care of the kids he helped me make.

Single ladies, have this conversation as early in the relationship as you can so you both have the right expectations going into marriage. Also take stock of his cleaning habits beforehand so you won’t be caught off guard later I’m fortunate because I didn’t marry a lazy man. He was on top of keeping his bachelor pad in order way before I came into the picture 🙌🏾

Now if you’re already in a relationship and struggling in this area, now would be a great time to lovingly but firmly set some boundaries, ask for some help, then get to delegating. God tells you to be your home’s manager, not a workhorse ♥️

P.S.
Now is a great time to remind you to grab the free prayer guide: “14 Days of Declaring Scriptures Over Your Husband”. It’s linked in my bio under “Free Guides”
